Through Naam Foundation, efforts were made to improve the educational standards in district council schools. In remote areas, the number of children attending schools was declining, so the main objective was to provide facilities in these schools, ensure that children from poor families received quality education, and bring back disadvantaged children to school so they could reclaim their right to education.
According to the educational policy of the Government of Maharashtra, schools were provided with basic physical infrastructure such as separate toilets for boys and girls, and initiatives were taken to provide digital education to children in line with the new curriculum.
Additionally, a Skill School program was introduced to teach children various skills. Under this initiative, children could learn different skills based on their interests, and methods of learning were taught using e-learning material, hardware, steel tools, and other resources. On this skill development platform, children were trained in electronics, robotics, fashion fabrics, rangoli, talking dolls, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, gardening, computers, and more. This helped children develop skills alongside formal education. The Skill School initiative sparked interest in learning and increased school attendance.
Under this project, vocational training was provided according to children’s interests, aiming to enhance their skills and shape their future accordingly.
Since there was a shortage of teachers in schools, the Digital School initiative was introduced, where LED screens and e-learning courses were provided to teach children more effectively and generate greater interest in their studies.
To encourage reading habits, libraries were established in schools. In line with new government regulations, schools were repainted and beautified. Furthermore, schools were supplied with sports equipment and various musical instruments to enrich the learning environment.
